Derby Pottery and Tile's Blue and White Street Tile Numbers are often called the "real deal" by many folks. Made to put outside and to last a lifetime, these encaustic, porcelain tiles are seen in the city side walks, in front of businesses or homes, just like the original street tiles were used over 100 yrs. ago. Derby Pottery began making these in 2003, recognized by their gold outline, inspired by one of the many historical examples in our city. With over 20,000 tiles made BY HAND, each tile is still inspected to ensure the best possible quality so that you too can install outside and become a part of history, for the next 100 years!
NOTE: Tiles were recreated the same size as the historical tile, and is the specification of the City of New Orleans. If planning to install vertically, the numbers are not all the same width - inquire about custom accommodation or options.
The "1" is much more narrow, and custom made wider "1" is available. The "3" is slightly more narrow than other # and the "0" is slightly wider than other #.
NOTE: When considering your installation- consult contractors for the best practices for your climate area. How do they install: "Porcelaneous tile"
